Micro-springs versus full pocket springs#
This is the technical heart of the comparison. Simba's "hybrid" uses thin layers of small conical springs, typically a few centimetres tall, sandwiched between foam layers on a foam base. Luxe hybrids use full-height pocket springs as the core, with foam or natural fillings above.
- Feel. Micro-springs add responsiveness to what is otherwise a foam mattress. Full pocket springs make a sprung mattress with a foam surface. If you grew up on sprung beds, Luxe will feel familiar; Simba will feel like a bouncy foam mattress.
- Edge support. Full-height springs, especially with reinforced edges as on the Nova Hybrid, hold up to the perimeter. Foam-based builds compress at the edge.
- Depth and weight handling. Luxe hybrids run 28–33cm; springs push back in proportion to load, so heavier sleepers do not bottom out. Simba's higher tiers add more spring layers to address the same problem.
