Who the Luxe Nova Hybrid suits

The Nova Hybrid is the plushest mattress in our range and the one we recommend first to dedicated side sleepers. It's built to let the shoulder sink deep while zoned springs stop the hips following, which is exactly the pressure-relief-plus-alignment combination the side-sleeping position demands. It is not a mattress for front sleepers or firm-feel preferrers, its 7.0 support score is honest about that trade-off, and heavier bodies will get better alignment from the Emma Original Elite.

Construction and materials

The 30cm build layers gel-infused memory foam and a pressure-relief foam over head-to-toe zoned Forticoil pocket springs, finished with natural wool and silk fillings under a soft-knit cover. The natural fillings do real work: wool wicks moisture and buffers temperature swings, offsetting the warmth of the gel foam above the springs. Hand-built in Britain with reinforced side walls.

Comfort and support

We gave the Nova a 10 for comfort, the only one on the site. Lying on your side, the shoulder settles into the foam and fillings with no pressure ridge, while the zoned springs hold the hip lane firmer so the spine stays level. Back sleepers of light-to-average weight also do well; the lumbar zone is firmer than the surface feel suggests. Front sleeping is the mismatch: the soft top lets the pelvis drop and arches the lower back.

Temperature

Plush foam layers normally mean warm sleeping, but the spring core, gel infusion and wool fillings pull the Nova back to comfortably neutral. Genuinely hot sleepers should still prefer the firmer, airier picks in our cooling guide.

Edge support and motion isolation

The reinforced perimeter is unusually solid for a plush mattress, sitting on the edge doesn't feel like sliding off, and couples can use the full width. Motion isolation is excellent: the deep foam layers absorb a partner's movement almost completely.

Durability, trial and warranty

Luxe backs the Nova with a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty. Plush comfort layers soften faster than firm ones by nature, so rotate it monthly; the zoned spring core beneath will comfortably outlast the surface. Expect 7–8 years at average body weight.

Our verdict

The Nova Hybrid is a specialist that's brilliant at its speciality. If you sleep on your side and wake with sore shoulders or numb arms, this is the most directly targeted fix we've scored, and at its recurring £449 sale price it undercuts every comparable plush hybrid we know of. Buy it for side sleeping; buy something firmer for anything else.
