From the shop floor#
Origin's pitch, a hybrid with a latex layer at a mid-market price, addresses the two complaints we heard most about foam hybrids: heat and that stuck-in-the-mattress feeling. Latex fixes both, because it is naturally open-celled and pushes back the instant you move. The trade-off is that a thin latex layer over foam and springs gives you some of latex's character, not all of it, and buyers expecting the full buoyant latex feel are sometimes surprised by how much foam is still in the sandwich.
It is a newer brand in the UK, which cuts both ways. The mattresses are built to current best practice and priced keenly to win share; the track record for warranty claims in year seven does not yet exist.
