Who the Reverso Memory suits
The Reverso is a deliberately soft memory foam mattress, and softness is a specification rather than a shortcoming – provided you are the person it was made for. That person is a lighter side sleeper who wants to be cradled, who finds medium mattresses unforgiving at the shoulder, and who has probably been disappointed by a firm mattress in the past.
Everyone else should look elsewhere, and we would rather say so plainly. With a support score of 7.4, the lowest on this site, it is the wrong mattress for back pain, for front sleeping, and for anyone much over 13 stone. Construction and materials
Twenty-five centimetres of memory foam over a supportive base foam, under a knitted cover. The depth is the good news: 25cm is generous at £329 and gives the memory foam room to contour properly rather than compressing straight through to the base the way a 15cm budget mattress does.
The knitted cover is stretchier than a quilted one, which lets the foam's shape come through instead of holding a taut surface over it. That is part of why the Reverso feels softer than its materials alone would suggest.
Comfort and support
We score it 8.2 for comfort and 7.4 for support. Read those two numbers together and you have the mattress: pleasant to lie on, limited in what it will hold up.
For a lighter side sleeper, the soft memory foam lets the shoulder sink deeply and the hip settle, keeping the spine level with very little pressure at the contact points. Temperature
Soft memory foam is the warmest-sleeping combination there is, because you sink into the material and it envelops you, reducing the exposed skin available to shed heat. There is no cooling technology in the Reverso. If you sleep hot and want soft, the plush Luxe Nova Hybrid is a hybrid and ventilates far better.
Edge support and motion isolation
Edge support is the weakest area – soft foam at the perimeter compresses readily, so sitting on the side sinks noticeably and the usable sleeping width shrinks. Motion isolation, conversely, is outstanding: deep soft memory foam absorbs movement almost completely, which makes this a quiet mattress to share despite its other limitations.
Durability, trial and warranty
Luxe include a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty, which matters a great deal on a mattress this specialised – if the softness turns out not to suit you, you are not stuck with it. Softer foams take a set sooner than firm ones, so expect 6–7 years of nightly use at lighter body weights, less if you are heavier. Rotate head-to-toe monthly for the first year.
Our verdict
The Reverso earns an 8.8 value score for delivering 25cm of memory foam, a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty at £329. It is a good mattress with a narrow brief, and the 100-night trial removes most of the risk in finding out whether you are the right buyer. Just be honest with yourself about sleeping position first: if you spend any real part of the night on your back or front, the lowest support score on this site is not a number to ignore.
