Who the Aerotac Superior Bubble suits
The Aerotac is the properly executed version of the idea the Core Bubble Memory introduces at £148. Same principle – profiled bubble memory foam for a softer, more breathable surface – but on a 20cm build with better-grade foam. That takes it from a guest-room mattress to a bed you can genuinely sleep on every night.
It suits side sleepers and anyone who likes a cushioning surface without wanting a mattress that feels soft or unsupportive. Consider the Superior Cashmere instead if you want the plushest surface in the range – it is £3 more and scores higher on both comfort and support, which makes the Aerotac a harder recommendation than its own merits deserve.
Construction and materials
Twenty centimetres: Aerotac bubble-profiled memory foam over supportive foam, under a breathable cover. The profiling cuts peaks and channels into the comfort layer, which does two useful things. It reduces the effective density of the top surface so it yields more readily under the shoulder and hip, and it creates air channels through a layer that would otherwise be solid.
Combined with a breathable cover, that gives it better heat handling than the flat-foam Saffron Comfort Deep, though it falls short of the CoolMax models.
Comfort and support
We score it 8.6 for comfort and 8.4 for support. The comfort figure is the interesting one: profiled foam gives a distinctly cushioned entry feel that many people prefer to the slow sink of flat memory foam, and the shoulder relief for side sleepers is among the best in the range.
The 8.4 support score reflects the 20cm depth doing its job. Average-build adults will not compress through it; sleepers over about 16 stone should still be looking at sprung builds. Front sleepers should choose the firmer Comfort Ortho Firm.
Temperature
Mid-table. The bubble channels and breathable cover move more air than a flat quilted surface, so it sleeps cooler than the Saffron, but there is no wicking fabric and no spring layer. If temperature is high on your list, the Comfort CoolMax Intelligent at £3 less is the better-targeted mattress.
Edge support and motion isolation
Edge support is acceptable for a 20cm all-foam build; the profiled top layer compresses readily at the perimeter, so expect some give when sitting on the side. Motion isolation is excellent, memory foam of any profile absorbs movement well, and the additional depth here helps.
Durability, trial and warranty
Five-year warranty, no home trial. The one durability caveat specific to profiled foam is that peaks and channels lose definition over time as the foam takes a set, so the surface will flatten gradually and the airflow benefit diminishes with it. Expect 5–6 years of nightly use. Rotating head-to-toe monthly in the first year helps the profiling wear evenly.
Our verdict
Judged alone, the Aerotac is a good mattress: 20cm of well-made profiled foam with a strong 8.6 comfort score and genuine appeal for side sleepers. Judged against its own range, it is awkwardly placed – the Superior Cashmere costs £3 more and beats it on both comfort and support, while the Comfort CoolMax Intelligent costs £3 less and solves the heat problem properly. Buy the Aerotac if you specifically want the profiled, cushioned surface feel; otherwise one of its two neighbours is the better buy.
