How well the mattress keeps your spine aligned across back, side and front sleeping positions, and how it copes with heavier body weights and edge support.
Comfort
Initial feel, pressure relief at the shoulders and hips, temperature regulation and motion isolation for couples.
Value
Price relative to build quality, trial length, warranty and how often the mattress is discounted.
Our overall score
The headline score is the average of the three pillars. Badges such as “Best overall”, “Budget pick” and “Luxury” are awarded editorially to help you shortlist quickly.
